PETALING JAYA: Veteran 60s singer Datuk Mohd Jais Ahmad (pix) passed away at the Darul Ehsan Medical Centre at 9.30am Tuesday.
The body of the 75-year-old crooner, better known as Ahmad Jais, will be taken to the Shah Alam state mosque and will be buried at the Seksyen 21 Muslim cemetery.
He was transferred to the hospital's intensive care unit (ICU) on Sept 25 due to breathing difficulty.
It was reported that he had complained of fatigue after performing in Batu Pahat, Johor on Sept 8.
His condition worsened on Thursday night and was admitted to the KPJ Selangor Specialist Hospital in Section 20 here.
He was then transferred to DEMC early Sunday morning as he has a medical record there.
Ahmad Jais was popular for hit songs such as Bunga Ku Puja Dipetik Orang, Dikau Pujaan, Gelisah and Bahtera Merdeka.
